Water sports of all kinds are popular in the area as the Mar Menor offers excellent conditions.

The La Manga strip offers many teaching centres (Escuelas de Vela). All of the centres offer the latest equipment with courses in sailing, wind-surfing, kite surfing, canoeing, water-skiing and deep sea diving with additional facilities such as board and boat storage, equipment rental, changing-rooms and showers, classrooms plus the rental of beach beds and umbrellas.

The warm temperature of the sea and the shallow waters of the Mar Menor makes it an ideal place to learn or improve the water sport of your choice, but for those of you have mastered their craft, you have access to the Mediterranean via the channel which joins the two seas, the Canal del Estacio. Anyone who feels confident enough to sail on the high seas can leave the Mar Menor and spend the day visiting the various small islands which are to be found off the coast - Isla Grossa, el Farallon or las Islas Hormigas.

Aqua Adicta Watersports La Manga

Aqua Adicta has been running since April 2006 and specialise in high quality private dinghy sailing lessons and windsurfing lessons. They also offer kayak safaris on the Mar Menor. These are suitable for anyone and are a great way to get out and see the area. They operate from Mar de Cristal, which is located at the southern end of the Mar Menor.

Literally a 1 minute walk from the apartment is Caravaning La Manga offering water sports facilities managed by El Galan Sailing School. Those who just want to watch can enjoy a drink or lunch at the restaurant nearby.

Escuela de Vela Sandrina (Sandrina Sailing School)

The sailing school, La Sandrina is the oldest in the entire region. They are the official distributor of TOPCAT equipment and offer a good service with all the necessary facilities for sailing and a bar cafeteria too. The school has professional equipment and excellent teachers with courses that cater specifically to individual needs from beginner courses to those perfecting nautical skills. Catamaran and dinghy sailing on offer and equipment rental and re-sale is also available.

Spinosa Kiteboarding

Spinosa is a Kitesurfing school in La Manga, which offers tuition in this privileged area of the Mar Menor. They offer all levels of tuition, from the total beginner who has not had any previous contact with the water, to the confirmed kitesurfer. They teach everything necessary in order to practice this sport with the highest level of safety for both the kitesurfer and spectators.
